Though we do not actually know how old the planet Earth is, we do know that the planet Earth existed before our Creator began building it up for habitational purposes, primarily so mankind could survive on it. Which is to say, He did not create the planet Earth and immediately begin to build it up so it could be habitational for mankind.
This is revealed through the historical record of:
Genesis 1:1-2
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
So, we observe that the creation of the planet Earth occurred before the 1st day of Earth’s development is recorded.
However, from the information found among the books of the Holy Bible, we are able to arrive at the realistic determination of when the physical (building up/development) of the planet Earth, along with the (“heavenly hosts”= stars and moons) occurred.
So, it’s possible that the Earth and other planets have existed for hundreds of thousands, millions or billions of years, because well, our Creator is eternal.
However, all the information we have from among the books of the Holy Bible, along with what legitimate geological surveys reveal to us about the developed and habitable planet Earth as we know it. Point to the development of the habitable planet Earth as we know it, beginning between 12,136 years-12,638 years ago.
And this is the best way we are able to determine this through analyzing the provided information found among the books of the Holy Bible:
We don’t know how old Adam was when Abel and Cain were born, but we know that Adam was 130 years old when Seth was born. So, because Adam existed before Able and Cain, we only need to know Adam as the foundation that we build upon, to know how long mankind has been occupying planet Earth.
So, beginning with lineage this is what we find:

But how do we know that each day does not equate to a literal single Earthly day?
It is because of what we find written among the historical records of:
Genesis 2:4-7
This is the ([a.] history of the heavens and the earth when they were created), in the day that (YHSYH/JESUS aka: LORD) God created the Earth and the Heavens, (before any plant of the field was in the earth) and before any herb of the field had grown. For, (YHSYH/JESUS aka: LORD) God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; but a mist went up from the Earth and watered the whole face of the ground. Then (YHSYH/JESUS aka: LORD) God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living (being/soul).

It’s very important to understand that the word generations does not equate to one individual day.
Also:
2 Peter 3:8
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord (one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day).
So, what we find is that the 6-7 days of creation as written in the first chapter of Genesis is the historical record of the prophetic utterance of God as revealed to Moses. It is possible that creation was thought and or spoke prophetically within 6 literal Earthly days, which is to say the (Wheels) of creation were set in motion. However, because we see that the literal meaning of (a. history) as written in Genesis 2:4 is actually (a. generations), we are able to arrive at the conclusion that all of physical creation was not literally physically created within 6 literal Earthly days.
Furthermore, based on the length of an Earthly generation, which is about 40yrs; it would have taken (a minimum of 240-280 Earthly years), if we were accepting that each day of creation as stated in chapter 1 of the book of Genesis only equated to 40 Earthly years.
However, if 1 day to God, is actually equivalent to 1,000 years on Earth. Then given that it says it took 6 days for physical creation to be completed, we would more logically and reasonably arrive at 6,000 years for physical creation to be completed.
So, if we calculate:
6,000 years for physical creation to be completed.
+
2,616 years occur between Adam being created and the physical death of Jacob.
+
1500-2,000yrs from death of Terah until Christ’s arrival.
+
2020-2022 years from Christ’s physical arrival unto the present day.
We arrive at the grand total of= 12,136 years-12,638 years.
Now, though this could seem like a low number of years, it is vital for all of us to recognize that
12,136 years-12,638 years for an individual to exist without dying would truly seem like eternity. For, it is the equivalent of a member of mankind physically remaining alive on Earth 121 times to 126 times longer than anyone living unto the age of 100 years old.
In other words, 121-126 lifetimes lasting 100 years for one individual.
We truly are unable to fathom how that would feel, what that would be like 🤯.
To put it further into perspective, most members of mankind that do not believe the books of the Holy Bible as true, along with many “believers” of the books of the Holy Bible, find it far-fetched and fictional that the book of Genesis provides a history of individual members of mankind having life spans lasting several hundreds of years long, with the two longest of those being Adam @ 930 years and Methuselah @ 965 years. So, if people think that is far-fetched, now try imagining a lifespan 13 times longer than that. Which is exactly how long ago I am declaring that the development of the habitable planet Earth as we know it began.
If we are honest and approach these facts with a logical perspective, it becomes undeniably apparent and completely reasonable that 12,136 years-12,638 years is plenty enough opportunity for the planet Earth and all it is composed of, including mankind, to have developed to the extent that it has.
In fact, if we look at mankind’s progress in the “modern age”, we have only in the last 200-300 years been able to achieve noticeable progress in the most necessary and significant areas of civilization, such as the studies of: (agriculture/food, medical, transportation, and communication).
Truly, if we were to go back 200-300 years ago, due to all the development that has occurred, we wouldn’t recognize our geographic location. Also, the manner by which mankind carried on back then would be very uncomfortable, and seemingly unbearable for the majority of us that have become accustomed to the conveniences and variety of this modern age. For so many, it would feel like they were completely stripped of their reason for existing.
Furthermore, what is so exceedingly sad and disturbing about that fact, is the extreme shock that the majority of mankind would experience due to the result of them no longer having access to the internet, “smartphones” and video games, professional sports leagues and concerts.
This tells us that the primary focus and delusional wickedness that the majority of mankind defines their existence, happiness and peace by, is primarily identified with the entertainment industry and self-satisfaction, rather than being aligned with the (mind/will) of our Creator and fulfilling the glorious destiny He has created and intended us for.
